Our riders snag more great results

Amy Schwarz

One thing is for sure, we're all about riding bikes! We love our products and so do our riders. So whilst we're not all that surprised that our team riders are killing it out there on the trails, we are super amped for them! Firstly we'd like to wish Amy Schwarz a huge congratulations for running away with second place at the Inside Line State Downhill Championships. This is a huge effort, on what is definitely one of the gnarliest tracks in Adelaide - which actually claimed Amy's helmet and a little bark off her chin. In the end it all came together in the run that really counted. Amy runs the SQlab 70X grips and 611 Ergowave Active saddle.

Pete Smith

Pete Smith snagged a bullet on the same day with a win at the same Inside Line State Downhill Champs in Super Masters Division. Pete's been on fire this season and this just goes to show he's still on the way up! Pete uses Formula suspension and brakes, Syntace cockpit and SQlab contact points.

Anna Kubilius

The recent XCO State Champs saw Anna Kubilius take 2nd overall after coming back from 3 weeks of sickness, only succumbing by seconds in the final moments of the race. Likewise, Matt Ackland took the win in Masters Men, adding to an already fruitful season for him.

Anna also just competed in the Australian Timetrial Masters Championships and despite it being her first TT race, where she used a roadbike, she managed to snag a second place!

"My SQlab Ergowave Active definitely helped me hugely putting the power down for this pretty unexpected result!" - Anna Kubilius (SQlab Rider)

Matt Ackland

While we're on the subject of XCO State Champs, Matt Ackland ran away with the bullet as well, claiming another gold for the trophy cabinet. A massive congratulations! Matt runs TUNE wheels, and a mix of Syntace and TUNE components, with Formula suspension and brakes.

Emlen Wilson

Emlen is proof that EightyOneSpices is run "by riders, for riders". Our very own sales team member competed in only his second downhill race over the weekend just gone, in Mount Gambier, on his Liteville H3. While Emlen is no stranger to sadlle time, he is generally regarded as an endurance athlete, but over the weekend he managed to snag 2nd place in Vets category, and also 3rd place in Senior Hardtail. This is a monumental effort and proves not only how handy Emlen is behind bars, but also how capable the Liteville H3 is. Congratulations mate!

Darren Hicks

And last, but by no means least, we'd like to throw a huge congratulations to Darren Hicks, for taking the double rainbow stripes in the one year; a UCI Track World Title and a UCI Road World Title. If this ain't a fairytale, then there is no such thing. Darren has done what so many cyclists have dreamed of, but very few have actually done and we're incredibly proud to be behind such an outstanding athlete and human being. Darren uses an SQlab 612 Ergowave Active saddle and TUNE wheels.
