FAQ: NEWMEN Streem road wheels valve setup and options

The NEWMEN Streem Aero-Valve is the world's first internal valve for even better aerodynamic values (it saves 1.5w at 45 km/h). The patented valve is hidden in the wind-protected interior of the rim.

With conventional wheels the valve is constantly dragged through the air, causing unwanted turbulences near the rim. The NEWMEN solution is the STREEM Aero-Valve which is protected from the air stream by being inside the rim. On top of the measureably improved aerodynamic properties, the hidden valve provides an unfamiliarly clean look. In case you would rather use regular valves every wheel is also provided with a reducer for easy use with conventional valves.

If you want to run tubes rather than tubeless, you can do so as well.

You can use your own choice of tube. But, if you want to run a tube and use the NEWMEN Streem Aero system so the valve is not visible and retain the aero benefits, you will need to use the NEWMEN Tubolito inner tube 28" Tubo-Road tube 700c AV which is supplied with your wheels or you can find them in our webshop.

Each Streem wheel comes with a complete Streem Aero valve kit, pre-installed tubeless rim tape and a Tubolito Tubo-Road tube.

FAQ: 12Speed Shimano HG cassettes on Tune 11Speed HG freehub bodies.

To start with, Tune's HG freewheels are compatible. All freewheels delivered until the end of 2022 are compatible with Shimano HG 11speed. However, Shimano HG is not just Shimano HG. The dimensions of the new cassette are minimally bigger. This may cause the cassette to rub on the frame in some frame models, but this is very dependant on the particular frame.  If this does happen, there is an easy fix. A thinner cassette stop ring should fix the issue. This link takes you through the assembly process.
